Bollywood’s very own onscreen Mahavir Phogat has finally completed the hunt for his daughters. Aamir Khan who will be playing the role of Mahavir Phogat in his upcoming movie ‘Dangal’, had been searching girls to suit the role of Geeta and Babita Phogat. The makers wanted to rope in newcomers for the respective roles and finally they have found the exceptionally talented girls for the roles.
‘Dangal’ is being directed by Nitesh Tiwari. Although the makers had scrutinized numerous actresses but none of them suited the role in a way the makers wanted it to be. After giving birth to oodles of speculations and rumours, they finally came up with actresses, Fatima Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra. The two young fortunate actresses have won over 21,000 girls, who were also scrutinized for the role. The makers spent months over this quest. Apparently, while Fatima belongs to Mumbai, Sanya is a Delhi-based girl.
Both of them have had exposure to the glamour field as Fatima has earlier been a part of few films and a TV serial, and Sanya is a trained ballet dancer. Both of them will play the role of sisters in ‘Dangal’. The young actresses will be seen wrestling onscreen, and their coach will be Aamir Khan (playing their father), coaching them for wrestling. As per the reports, the filmmakers have yet not settled down, as they have now begun searching for child actors to play the younger versions of Geeta and Babita Phogat.
The announcement of the names has put a stop to the speculations and rumours that were earlier doing the rounds. Kangana Ranaut, Tapsee Pannu and Urvashi Rautela were speculated to play the role of Aamir’s daughters in ‘Dangal.’ ‘Dangal’ will be an inspirational movie to people of all ages. It is a real life story of wrestler Mahavir Singh who coached his daughters in a sport that was supposedly just for men. Adding flare to the hopes and trust of their father and their nation, both of them bagged historic wins at Commonwealth Games. Aamir met the proud daughters on the sets of ‘Satyamev Jayate’. ‘Dangal’ would portray the tough as well the ilk heart of a father. ‘Dangal’ is not only about wrestling but an emotional journey of a father and his daughters, which will futher teach us to empower our girls. Indeed, Dangal will be a movie that will touch the hearts of people as well as soar the box office numbers.
