The competitive environment in which the Bollywood industry survives in known by all. The daily struggle for lead roles, release dates, screens, etc. keeps on happening and is very well known. However, another extra mundane thing that has been added to the list might surprise you and this is a new one – the fight for shooting locations. The fight for shooting locations has taken place between two superstars, i.e. Aamir Khan’s Dangal and Salman Khan’s ‘Sultan’.
Both Dangal and Sultan have the same theme and touch upon the topic of wrestling. The makers of the movies wanted to shoot at Gujjarwal village near Ludhiana but situation did favour only one out of them. However, while Aamir one this race, Salman lost out on the much wanted location. Aamir’s Dangal received permission and was allowed to shoot while Salman had to get back home.
Singh Is Bling too was shot near Ludhiana and as per the resources the villagers are ecstatic that their village has all of sudden become the most preferred location for big Bollywood stars to shoot their movies. This will surely give a boost to tourism in Gujjarwal and surrounding villages. However, since Dangal was already being shot in the village, it was not possible to allow the shoot of Sultan in the same village. Dangal movie will be shot till next year. Dangal has completed its first schedule of shoot and has left the village. But the team might return anytime back to the village for shoot after few months when Aamir loses weight. It will be till next August that no shooting will be allowed of any other movie in the village. This location battle however has now turned cool and things have been settled between the film makers.
Aamir Khan is working hard on the Nitesh Tiwari movie Dangal, where he plays a wrestler father to four teenage daughters. Accompanying him will be TV actress Sakshi Tanwar who plays the role of his wife. It is an inspiring story where the father encourages his three daughters to pursue their dreams of wrestling. On the other hand, Salman is all set to work on Ali Abbas Zafar’s film ‘Sultan’. Salman portrays a 40-year-old wrestler Sultan Ali Khan from Haryana.
